Already the GOP seems to revealing the hand that they THINK they are holding...; i.e., to obstruct, to obfuscate , to deny , and ultimately to take the resultant inaction on the serious problems facing all of us and claim that it is the sole responsibility of the Democratic Party in general, and Barrack Obama SPECIFICALLY....

Just look at Senator Cornyn (R-TX) and the pointless shenanigan he has gotten up to with Hillary and her nomination.......
Clearly they are NEVER going to accept or accede that they were / are in any way responsible for the present state that the United States finds itself in...
CLEARLY they are NEVER going to Change their Totally Inept World Concepts...these a-hole are simply frozen solid in a reactionary cold-war mentality....

I admit it... I don't know what I'm talking about here...but then neither does ANYONE ELSE !!!
I am of course speaking about the Bailout Banks that have received money from me and you and then flat out refused to say how that money is being used...
WHAT ????? Wait...HUH ??? You Just Are Refusing To Say ????
I mean are these the same banks that I now hear almost daily are BUYING other banks????
I mean are these banks the same ones that are sending their executive to fabulous vacation junkets????? WITH MY MONEY ?????

The Fallacy Of Zero Sum

A short story..

So a day bright and new came along to show a Baker by the name of
"Republic" hard at work baking bread for his end of work day
customers...he had been working for hours previously as he had already
made and sold his usual to the early morning crowd.
Now as everyone knows, baking is hot tiresome work but can be so
rewarding ,...there is the satisfaction of creation, the abject smiles
of anticipation on the faces of those buying your bread or cookies, and
as a small bonus there is the smell...that wonderful smell of fresh
baked bread.....ahhhh.
Maybe it was this smell that caused the problem.. I couldn't say..
The smell meant comfort and satisfaction..
Whatever is was the problem started with Republic's only son... Little
George..
Little george wanted some bread but was not helping Republic who kept
telling Little George, "Be patient, and remember "TANSTAAFL" "
Little George kept demanding Republic do as Little George wished and
simply stop so that Little George could do as he wished..
"Dad, what do that mean "TANSAAFL"?? " , "It's stupid"

Republic only kept working to meet the needs of later in the day...
Finally Little George got angry that things weren't going as he wanted
and in a fit he went out front and threw a large bisk thru the front of
the store shattering the very expensive window... Then he went home and
hid as bad boys often do..

Republic had to stop and get the window fixed so later when the
evening crowd came to purchase their dinner bread there was none..
Many were angry and demanded from Republic an explanation... "I had my
window broken unexpectedly and had to call the glazier to get it
repaired, because TANSTAAFL..." he would then sadly shake his head and
apologize more for his customers going hungry...

Some of them shushed him and soothed him saying, "Republic , it is
alright, for now the glazier has benefitted from your misfortune, he
will doubtless buy bread from you later with the money you pay him and
he might buy new tools from the blacksmith as well...see? This is a
good thing"..

Republic only shook his head and sighed. "TANSTAAFL"
"You have it wrong he said, I am now out by the amount of money hat I
would have made selling you bread, and the money that I am forced to
pay for the new window, AND the wage of the glazier..SEE? TANSTAAFL !"

"Yes , yes," they said, "but what does that mean?"
"Look it is this way" Republic sadly said,"I would have been enriched
by the sales I cannot make this evening, I would still have the cost of
the new window in my accounts, and I might have been about to add a
second worker to my bakery and cannot do so now... TANSTAAFL simply
means There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch !!! "

Little George simply does not understand this...
Republic has the support for all the things he does and in turn he is providing for his community...
Little George just takes for granted that he also has support BECAUSE of the good standing his father has... And that as a result Anything he decides to do will also be supported and be seen as a good thing for the community...
This is the fallacy of the zero-sum argument...

THE AGE OF PROGRESS OR THE AGE OF HOMILY ????

I am getting the sick feeling ... not quite fully realized but there nonetheless...in the pit of my mind's waste removal area so to speak....my sub-conciousness if you will.
It is plainly stated this...: We are witnessing the advent of an historic period in The United States Of America... We have seen a person of clearly non-white heritage elected to the highest political office in our beloved country. For the First Time !!!
And Only One-Hundred and Fifty Years after we had a WAR that declared ALL people such as he totally Equal...
Only 150 Years ...Only...!!!
And Now the powers that are will completely nuetralize him from realizing ANY creative Idea that he or the support network he brought with him can propose.
They Can and they Will if it looks to them in any fashion that the continuation of their hegemony is going to be forestalled or in any way threatened...
AND they will blame him....
I am sickly feeling that this will be the case in point and it will not be just Republicans at the switches...it will be Democrats as well...
But they wont be caught without a whole pocket full of good sounding homilies to explain why they are doing what is in effect simply childish, selfish actions.

I can feel it all around me when I go out... Folks are just ...waiting.
In the Arctic, there is this "Pack Ice Melt" phenomena where locals swear they get tense, edgy, and even have fights break out in public places during the season when the pack ice starts to break up..
I think that this is close to what that must be like... It is a strain, it is draining ...it is stressful.
President Obama has been boxed in by the Republicans...no matter WHAT he does, it will not be enough and consequently it will be bad. Score for the republicans.
This horrifying debacle is almost entirely of the making of the current administration ( Lil'George et-al ) and yet they are studiously looking for and exploiting any opportunity to put the blame on the Previous Democratic Presidents...

ENOUGH !!!!!

We need to stop all the petty bickering in Washington and get something positive done...

Richardson had to withdraw his name from Commerce Secretary Nomination because of an investigation... One that threatened to disrupt the Obama Adminstration's earliest decisions.
There is no telling the exact amount of criminal actions that have been allowed under the Republicans (and we no doubt will likely never know). What is a sure thing is that they Republicans are already setting up shop to be as obstructionist as possible...
I wonder how many guys like Scooter Libby would go to jail if they didnot have Bush standing behind them with a bag full of our money and a get out of jail free card..
Well it is nearly over in that regard.

"Who Will Remember Our Works???" A Question.

I commented the following on another persons blog in response to their question , "Who will remember...?"... And it was asked regarding artistic expression...
I said....
Personally I was seventeen and I liked Zeppelin plenty, I never saw this film tho, pity...I am not sure What I'd have made of it...but as to your posit that "art is what is remembered"... I dunno...I tend to think "Art" is art regardless of being remembered... Art for art's sake??? God no...I mean to say that , for instance,...a soldier's actions in the midst of horrific battle could be justifiably seen and regarded as high art.
Or conversely, the surgeon performing near miraculous brain surgery could be seen as surpassing skill and expressing an art.
I do not mean to argue here, I agree that "Art" is remembered, just not by all and not always... And the clutter...it Is all around , it is called civilization....
I don't know whom our works will be remembered by, nor even if that is a criteria that we should consider in our contemplation of action... I believe that we should do what we see, feel, and think to be correct for the moment and posterity will out. And if it happens to be done in a fashion that elevates the act beyond the norm...well then we arrive at another , the strongest notion of Art.
I used to blithely tell folks that there was no excuse for bad style....Now I just think there is no standard that is "THE" standard.
